In November 1990 Mauro Sanna opened Olivo, a restaurant specialising in Sardinian cuisine and its success led to the arrival in November 1995 of Oliveto, with more informal authentic Sardinian fare including reputedly London’s best pizzas.
May 2007 saw Olivomare open with a Sardinian influenced seafood menu and an award winning interior designed by Sardinian architect, Pierluigi Piu, also responsible for the design of all the restaurants. Adjoining Olivomare is Olivino, a wine shop/delicatessen offering specially imported Sardinian produce as used in many of the restaurants’ dishes plus some of the finest Italian and Sardinian wines available in London.
In August 2012 following Olivomare’s success, Mauro opened Olivocarne a restaurant devoted to all things meat and a menu dedicated to char-grills, pastas, game, offal and more besides.
In September 2013, due to the popularity of the made in-house gelato served in the restaurants, the latest chapter of the Olivo story came in the form of Olivogelo, an artisan gelateria producing freshly made gelato often incorporating Sardinian ingredients.
Mauro and his long standing team of chefs, headed by Andrea Orru and Marco Melis, look forward to welcoming you to savour the tastes and famed Sardinian hospitality in London’s heart.
