In November 1990 Mauro Sanna opened Olivo, a restaurant specialising in Italian/Sardinian cuisine. Its success led to the arrival in November 1995 of Oliveto, with more informal authentic Italian/Sardinian fare including reputedly London’s best pizzas.
May 2007 saw Olivomare open, a fish restaurant specialising in Sardinian fish dishes and an award winning interior. Shortly after this, Olivino opened, a wine shop/delicatessen adjacent to Olivomare offering specially imported Sardinian produce as used in many of the restaurants’ dishes plus some of the finest Italian and Sardinian wines available in London.
In August 2012 following Olivomare’s success, Mauro opened Olivocarne, a restaurant specialising in Sardinian meat dishes.
In September 2013, due to the popularity of the made in-house gelato served in all of the restaurants, the latest chapter of the Olivo story came in the form of Olivogelo, an artisan gelateria producing freshly made gelato often incorporating Sardinian ingredients.
